The Purina Dog Chow Incredible Dog Challenge is a yearly "extreme sports" competition.  Beginning February 27 in Chicago, dogs participated in such events as "dog diving" - similar to a typical olympic diving competition, "flyball" - similar to a relay race, and "flying disc" - where dogs catch frisbees and perform acrobatics to music.  The regional finals, held in Chicago, Colorado, California, Florida, and New Jersey, determined which dogs would participate in the final in St. Louis on June 12.

In addition to the formal competition, there was a demonstration of Jack Russell Terrier hurdles racing.  Two Blackburn dogs participated in this event: Dutch Creek Rick O'Shea of Blackburn and Skeeter of Blackburn.  After two grueling races (it was very humid), Dutch Creek Rick O'Shea of Blackburn was crowned the racing champion!
